Open Liberty

This morning at the Liberty Alliance workshop, president Roger Sullivan announced the formation of openLiberty, "...established to provide easy access to tools and information to jump start the development of more secure and privacy-respecting identity-based applications based on Liberty Federation and Liberty Web Services standards."

there's not much there yet, but it may help to bridge the open aspects of Shiboleth with the closed aspects of the Liberty Specs (very similar things, actually) while allowing the open source identity community free access to Liberty spec expertise. It's also one more area to approach the Microsoft identity metasystem without actually sitting down with Redmond.
