No confidence, but working

There were two op-ed pieces in this morning's USA Today offering the con ("Electronic ballots fail to gain vote of confidence") and pro ("E-voting works") of electronic voting machines. The con appears to be a re-hash of previously (some years old) anecdotes relating to theoretical cases or poorly trained operators while the pro is a bit glib about potential problems. Still, I believe that a neutral, logical reader would give more credence to the "pro" stance. But as I'm not neutral, maybe I'm wrong.
